Honoka Inoue voicing a dommy mommy kind of character is WILD. It's total whiplash since she played Kaoruko from Fragrant Flower just last season.

Much like I am interested in the light novel, I am most interested in the anime.

And I'm not the first to point this out, but we're in a continuous period of seasons that have at least one yuri title airing. Yuri has become a commercial force in itself.

Wish the same for BL and other Queer-centric works, but it is what it is.

I haven’t read the light novels yet but I’ve heard it can get pretty gory, makes me wonder if they might tame it down a bit for the anime.

That's what those of us who have read the novels are wondering, too. This preview carefully avoided putting itself in the position of showing anything truly graphic but does suggest that the series won't fully pull its punches.

Cautiously looking forward to this. The casting sounds solid, and that small preview doesn't look too bad.
I was concerned when I first heard it was getting an anime, that there would simply be lots of blacked out screen-time, because the LN gore is pretty intense. The manga is much less graphic, but is, to me at least, not nearly as strong, story-wise.
I need to go back and re-read at least Vol 4 of the LN, as Vol 5 finally comes out in English next month...and I'm a little hazy on my recollection of the finer details.

For an anime that's supposed to be about yuri, there's a significant number of worthless garbage you call men in the poster. That's much more concerning than the gory content. These "men" are even more disturbing and disgusting than the gore itself. At the very least, unlike Turkey and Egao no Taenai, they're advertising them. I can already smell the Sound Euphonium-level yuribaiting. The main girls who are supposed to be lesbians are going to end up with the male party members behind them really soon.

Yuri is not the main focus of this series, but it isn't a tease or left ambiguous, either. (It's right there in the series' subtitle.) So you needn't worry that the (gasp!) presence of men will interfere with the yuri relationship happening.

Erhm... No. And also, having men in a yuri does not mean the girls ending up with men. Much like, in real life, lesbian women in a setting with men does not make them any less lesbian.

And I know, I know. Euphonium left a lot of us scarred. But I'd argue Queerbaiting has become less commercially viable, and Queer pairings are a lot more viable in anime, manga and LN than they used to be, commercially speaking.
