Beautiful trailer, but I’m hoping Tachikawa doesn’t stay in charge of this project…I need him in charge of better stories…

interesting to see how this goes. mihoyo really nailed down two of the greatest anime anime studio out there (ufotable and mappa). hope this project isn’t stuck in dev hell like the genshin anime.

Maybe this is just a short anations on the game like how they do honkai impact 3 animations. On every version there would be short anime per chapter. Like an epilogue or climax part of the story.

This is just a concept trailer, similar to all the animation stuff they did for Impact 3rd.
That being said, there's a bunch of shots in here that makes me think that if they did a project together, it'd likely be a bunch of prequel/backstory related stuff of things we already know early on (ie first two planets, really) There's a scene with the High-Cloud Quintent being all chummy and cheerful, which is something that would absolutely not happen at the point the main story takes place in, there's a scene that reminds me of what's said about Kafka (spoiler[that the Trailblazer, during their time as a member of the Stellaron Hunterd, 'changed' her,] etc. Would explain why there wasn't any on March or Himeko since they haven't delved into either of them deeply yet so far, unlike the other ones, and Welt's Welt (although there was a clearly a Void cameo in there, if you knew where to look.) |

I have a Platinum in Star Rail and ZZZ and a suggestion that those plots could lead to an anime even remotely worth watching is ludicrous at best. I don´t like skipping cutscenes or dialogue in games but those games make Pokemon plots look like Shakespeare.

I'm most curious if the person conspicuously not in the game but in the anime is supposed to elio/ caelus or even both.
I will say that if they did make an actual star rail anime then I would really prefer it be stelle and not caelus. there is definitely not a way that hoyo would allow someone else to display key main plot like new stellaron hunters content ESPECIALLY as a flash back. Heck lets be honest we are not going to get any "real main story" content for probably another 5 years that people are talking about with prequel content. Here is the major HSR anime problem You would need to spend at least 2 episodes on the tutorial level Herta space station, and then probably at least 6 on belabog. then maybe if you are lucky 5 maybe speed through the lofu story that is already very poorly paced and speed through in the game. But hey you got through 1.0-1.3 which is "the main story patches for 1.0" Then you have the rest of the 1.x patches. That is of course assuming that you cut out all the side content from those previous patches that people like more then the MSQ/ 1.4 you probably actually need to adapt for later on because of belabog/ipc introduction and High cloud quint maybe you can get away with skipping most of 1.5 except for the swarm set up. and you'd still need to do 1.6 to set up for penacony But you have already done a full cour on the "MSQ" and penacony is probably need at least a full cour just for 2.0-2.3 (penacony MSQ) The point being even if you gave the anime a traditional double cour season 1 (which is a HUGE ASK) you might not even get to the content people like and actually remember which is penacony and 2.x where the game actually got popular. And now a days asking for that JUST TO GET TO THE GOOD PORTION is not going to fly for a modern anime. the era of it gets good after episode 128 is just not viable anymore I think. |

^I think it would depend on what they want to focus on would determine how a series could go. I think if they just kept to the MSQ they could do each full version a season.
They could also shift things around to better fit a anime season story compared to a game. Have Ruan Mei appear earlier on Herta space station for example instead of after. Maybe they could also workshop Luofu to make it a bit better... Personally I think Belobog was "a good part", so I don't think people would be waiting too long past the tutorial level (and that could be expanded as well. I think you could do Herta and Belobog in 12 eps, then I guess Luofu and Penacony in 24 eps, with Luofu being 6 or so of those. Penacony could probably be done in 12, but there's definitely enough there to expand it beyond that. Amphoreous would probably need 24 though... Though I suppose that depends on how much you want to focus on the cycles... endless eight anyone?
