Well, I was browsing my email, and I came across a newsletter from Robert's Anime Corner Store with some very disturbing news:
(copy and paste commences)
++ ADV Announces Najica Blitz Tactics - ADV is taking the collector's box edition of
its next anime series to a new level. Najica Blitz Tactics: Volume 1 will be released
both as a stand-alone DVD and in a Pantyriffic Collector's Edition with a custom series
art box and a pair of Najica Blitz Tactics bikini-cut panties. The series will consists
of twelve episodes; each DVD will include four episodes.
BUT!! In other news, Trigun and Hellsing fans rejoice:
++ Ring, Trigun and Hellsing Manga Licensed - Dark Horse Comics has acquired the English translation
rights to Hiroshi Takahashi and Misao Inagaki manga adaptation of The Ring, Yasuhiro Nightow's
Trigun, and Kouta Hirano's Hellsing manga serials. Ring and Trigun will debut in November
and
Hellsing will debut in December. Excellent!

Yeah... it makes you wonder if they're trying to mock the people buying it or what. If they are, kudos. If not, I'm afraid.

The production company indicated how many there were although it's been so long that I've forgot. I believe the total count is about over 1200 panty shots for the full series. Pretty stupid idea on ADV's part though, if they advertise that on the box it will set back animedom an infinite degree for any casual person/female who notices it while browsing the dvds at Best Buy or some such (worse than that rediculous jiggle counter sticker on their Burn Up discs or their Kurumi covers). Hell I'D be embarassed to purchase this in public if they put it on the box (not that I'm buying the series anyway, it wasnt very good even for myself, an AIKa fan).

A pair of paties that relates to a theme in the show is not disturbing.
If they were USED panties...that is disturbing.

Advertising a pair of commemorative panties as a selling point for a deluxe-version of the DVD is disturbing.

Oh gee! Like it wouldnt set it back anymore if they actually bought it and watched it without the panties? Hell, if animedom was able to survive the Ninja Scrolls movie, there probrobly isnt much that can set it back.

Disturbing? Bah.
Just imagine all the happy fanboys that get the chance to wear the panties of their favourite heroine. Be happy for them instead.

Jeez, think of going in to a store and buying a box set that has panties in. It might be a probelm for the ladies, but for guys . . . that's just strange. Plus, what are guys going to do with, frame them, put in their anime collection. That's just . . . strange.
