I think the metropolis movie was very good and was a good enhancement of the original manga. I watch the dvd every single night but i think it is rediculous that it took them 2 hours to paint one cel and there are 15,000 cels. That doesn't include the time it took to draw them. That is like 30,000 hours!!!!!

metropolis? that movie sucks!! i saw it on animidnight once it was stupid and i hated the music they played and just blah it sucks looks like it should b on tech tv or sumthing

Craeyst: Actually, ANN trashed Metropolis, because it wasn't like the manga, which was so cartoonish that even Tezuka was embarassed by it. I'll just say I felt the themes in Metropolis the anime were a lot stronger than in the manga. But without the manga, you wouldn't have had Astroboy.

Sadly, both times that I tried to watch it, I fell asleep. It's not that I think it's poorly done, but I am certainly not qualified to judge it myself.
