It's has not been licensed yet, so it will probably be at least a year before there is an english version.

Sand Land is Akira Toriyama's latest manga series. Because of the need to tie Shonen Jump to shows on American TV, many of the manga series that will run in the American edition will be those than ran years ago inJapan (and inspired the anime series that are now on TV in the States). Sand Land is an example of how the American edition will also include more contemporary properties, that haven't appeared in anime form yet.

This is probably old, probably from when Shonen Jump first started, but I haven't found anything about an anime anywhere, so there probably isn't one....yet.

Not unless you happen to be a leecher like myself who downloads fansubs and scanlations. Anime catgrin + sweatdrop What shame I have. Still, I'm as eager as you are for both One Piece and Naruto to be licensed. The current rate that Viz is putting out the manga can certainly make one impatient. I have the Naruto and One Piece volumes and even subcribe to SJ, but I'm predicting that these two shows will get picked up this year.

*Waits to see them on a nice big TV screen.*

These are also my two favorite anime shows currently. I think Naruto has a bit higher budget and better looking animation than One Piece...but Luffy is just so excessively insane that I can't help but love following his stories. Of course, it also helps that both Naruto and Luffy are bada$$es...enough to make me feel like a kid again inside.

Sorry, this just is not the case.
Having seen every episode of both anime, I can safely say without any uncertainty that One Piece maintains a much higher quality of animation than Naruto. Not to say that some episodes of Naruto aren't beautifully animated, but these are rare. Not to mention that it seems like they change animation studios every 15-20 episodes.

I have to agree. Before Naruto I had never seen a show use repeated animation in the form of flashbacks so damn much. And Naruto had a recap episode pretty early on while I have yet to see one of those in One piece.

The flashbacks are really starting to get to me in Naruto, if it's so popular then raise the budget a little already!

Yes the flashbacks get to me too and how they have to explain everything more than once. Rolling Eyes I like the manga since there are no flashbacks, but I love watching it in action. The art is pretty basic in both Naruto and One Piece, but there are those few episodes that have fluid animation. No doubt the Naruto one hour special (66 & 67) has awesome animation.
