ok, i don't have a lot of time. but i felt i needed to start this topic, i want to know what you guys think of Hot Gimmick, because i absolutely love it! w00t

I think Hot Gimmick is one of the better shoujo series going on that have been released. I'm not a big fan of the artwork, but the whole love triangle thing really has my interest. Akane and Subaru are a riot as well. (the Gundam jokes? too funny!)Volume 5 is coming out soon!

i know! i can't wait for for vol. 5 to come out! i blew my whole first paycheck on hot gimmick 1-4, and some other manga, and of course the months issue of newtype magazine ^^. i spent overall like 80 some dollars. heh heh heh.

 I just splurged on manga yesterday, and finally after a couple months of waiting, was able to pick up volumes 3 and 4. The manga is just great. I was really hating Azusa after the whole "incident" but now, oi, I don't want to, but I'm feeling sorry for him.
I'm rooting for the Ryoki/Hatsumi coupling. 
P.s. am I the only one who thinks that Hatsumi's older brother looks rather like Azusa, and that there might be some weird connection with those two? *suspicious* |

Me too, totally. Where there is hate there is also love. I've been reading, and although the art isn't the best (though I don't find it bad at all!), the story is really good. I think I like it because it's a bit more honest about sex than most of the other titles out right now. |

ah, glad to hear such good responses!
oh totally! i mean i had a hunch from the start, or atleast i liked Ryoki from the start. yeah, he's an ass most of the time...but i knew there was a reason for it. and for Azusa, i would've never saw what he did, coming! it was crazy! ^^ |

You're telling me. After reading that I was randomly putting it into my friends faces and going "Omigod, omigod, omigod! I cannot believe he just did that!!!". I think I know what it feels like now for our mothers or whoever to watch soap operas. |

I have yet to pick up Hot Gimmick But I was considering it for my next obsession. I see here all of you love it. I am I truely making a good decision by picking this up
 I don't want to have a Happy Mania incident. (some one told me it was good and I picked it up only to find out it wasn't)

Happy Mania and Hot Gimmick are nothing alike. I have yet to find a person that dislikes Hot Gimmick. Happy Mania is more than slightly annoying and supposedly appeals to the older female reader.

Indeed. I knew there was more to Ryoki, otherwise it would make for a pretty piss-poor manga. With a story like this, you can't afford to make your characters shallow. But yeah, when Azusa pulled that little "gang up" bit, I was more than a little surprised. All the more reason why there are a few guys out there who like Hot Gimmick too. If there is some real depth to the characters, we'll probably be able to enjoy it...

I am totally into Ryoki right now. In the 1st volume he was rather uncertain, but it's definitely developing into something better. And the reason I think Hatsumi will stay with Ryoki the whole way through and not go back to Azusa ever? Ryoki has not lied to her, not once. It's a brutal honesty, sure, but he is honest. |

Very good point. I never really realized that before, or moreso I never really thought about it too much. well at any rate, go Ryoki!!! Also the whole thing with Shinogu, we'll get you thinking and eagerly awaiting the next vol.! oh yeah... check out this poll. (if you haven't already) Who should end up with Hatsumi? Ryouki 62% Azusa 11% Shinogu 23% Subaru 03% Nobody 01% Vote! |
