On average how much do you spend weekly/monthly on manga? because I got done with some stuff faster than I thought I would and want to pick up some more volumes but this is like running up my budget.... well... my parents.

I used to spend $15 (usually 2 volumes) in 2 weeks. But I've been away from manga and anime for so long that I've been spending my money else where. But now that I'm getting money and remember how much I like manga, my $15 budget will resume

I usually buy at least one volume per week. So, depending on the producer and the store, that's between 8 and 12 dollars a week, or between 32 and 48 dollars a month. Lately the DVDs have been draining me though.

I usually get 2 volumes each time I go to the store and that usually amounts to about $15 a week.

I try to budget myself when I buy manga, but that never seems to hold. Usually when I go to Book Off I spend about 60-70 dollars on manga alone. That's every time I go there, which can once a week, to twice a month. Just depends, but it still hurts my card alot.

I generally spend about $50 a month on books. Often this includes manga (and it isn't rare for it to all be manga).

Well, since I'm a student that's paying for my tuiton, there's drastic changes in my spending (as most of my money is now going to school ). However, on a basis that I do buy manga, I usually buy it in large clump sums or a few whenever I happen to be working at the mall and decide to pick one up. So on a monthly basis I could spend anywhere from $50 to $150 on manga ^^.
But like I said, school draining me, so I'm looking more often at spending $50 a month Damn school and it being so expensive.

It depends on several factors, including but not limited to how often you shop, how many graphic novels you buy, and which company you are buying them from. I buy new graphic novels about once a month not just because of my budget as a student but also because I will be getting the latest volumes. Most of the series I read are from the Jump Comics line, so most of what I buy is from Viz Media, so I can afford to buy at least three to four of their Jump graphic novels at a time. That averages to about $30-40 a month for me.

It really all depends if I want to read something new of if I'm trying to finish off a series or get the rest of the series that is currently released but not all volumes are over in the US yet.
If I'm starting a new series it can be upwards of $100 that a spend a month depending on how man volumes are currently released. If I'm still in the process of collection or finish that can vary too.
This month alone I think I spend several hundred dollars, mainly because I started reading some manga that I haven't read before and trying to finish up some others.
I have some others that I want to get but Since I'm not getting any more manga this month or next month I can save for next year and get them.

I think asimpson2006 and Aikoh gave excellent responses. Now that I am no longer a student and full time employed, I spend more than I used to. (Catching up on my wants list.) I would estimate between $100 - $200 a month depending on new releases, OOP titles, and if I'm getting all of the volumes on a running series.
Really the amount you spend on manga is an odd issue (and was discussed in an older thread). I'm not exactly sure why people are interested in it so much. Buy what you can afford. Then again, I recall meeting this guy in a bookstore who kept reminding me to visit a scan site in order to read manga online vs. buying it. (This of course is a personel irritation to me - I hate online reading of books. I love my bound pages.) My only thought was that he possessed poor impulse control. I too have sat in the boat desperate to read the next vol in a beloved series, but chose to get school supplies, gas, food or whatever instead. And survived without resorting to bookstore reading.

For me, buying manga would be around 10 dollars a piece. I could only buy it when I'm in Kinokuniya or maybe in Chinatown. It depends since I only have $165 in my personal savings.

Yeah like a lot of users have been saying it really depends on you and your own personal situation.
I ussually shop for Manga at Chapters/Coles, which I have a member card for so I get a discount. However I'm in Canda and stuff is a bit more expensive here.
Anyway sometimes I'll only buy 1 volume (8 - 10 dollars) (although I've seen single volumes as high as 15), but sometimes I'll go and spend over 100 dollars all at once and pick up a whole series (or nice chunk of a longer one).

Well, speaking from a foreign standpoint since I live in the Philippines, manga is definitely pricey. Almost to the point of a luxury item really.
One manga volume = 600-1000PhP (They're imported so bookstores slap on the expense of having them brought over from abroad. $1 is about 55PhP so if we're going to convert directly, the manga would cost 550PhP without the cost of having to import)
My weekly allowance = 850PhP (Mind you, this is lunch money too. Imagine that, the price of one manga volume can feed me lunch for a week. )
On average, I buy one volume a month. Sometimes, I get lucky and find volumes at used books stores for 75PhP each (around $1.50). I buy tons of those. So yes, I have a shitload of discount manga I'll never read now. xD The titles I want all seem to be selling at full price. However, I am particularly glad that I completed all five volumes of Love Roma despite having to buy all the volumes at full price. Art aside, the story is charming. So glad I stuck with it.
Most I've spent on manga is 8500PhP. I think there was a sale and the cash was part of my high school graduation gift. I grabbed the first twenty volumes of Rurouni Kenshin with that cash.

Well, here in Ireland it's pretty much the same ol' prices as everywhere else;
- Normal Tokyopop/Viz Media volume : 10 euro
- Gollanz volume : around 7 euro
- Other manga (e.g. Vertical, Fanfare...) : 15-23 euro range
I don't spend half as much money as you guys do. I'm hoping to get a part-time job soon, once I get one I'll be buying tons of old stuff off Book Depository...

Hmm, it really depends. I think it's mostly based on whether it's hardcover or not, whether it has extras, how popular the series in question is, and how long it's been out. It can also depend on the store, and maybe even by genre.
For instance, I remember seeing Fullmetal Alchemist once in hardcover that was $15.00. Death Note is very good, but the hype here has died down and the books have been selling for a while. You can get those around less than $9.00. A very good example is Naruto. Take the first volume of Shipuuden. At first, it was REALLY popular, and I'm sure it sold for over $10.00. But now, while we're at, like, volume 25 or something of Shipuuden, by this point, every respectable Naruto obsessive has his or hew own copy of the first one. Now you can find that vol. 1 out there for $9.00 or less (I've even seen it sold a Walmart for around $7.00. That's right, WALMART.)
So really, I think the most manga would ever fetch would be $15.00 (Even in today's economy). But that's only where I live. Prices can vary drastically depending on where you are. (Look at the back of a volume of manga and compare the regular price to the Canadian price). One thing's for sure, where I am, manga will NEVER go $20.00 or higher.
