I've ordered the first DVD, read a brief review on American Amazon site that said it was good, then another one on IMDB that said it was bad, heard it had Mecha, I like Mecha.
Any good?

It's not mecha if you're looking for mecha anime. It's about two very powerfull guys who are battling eachother in an isolated world. It's an world where people have different ablities that are some kind of weapons. I liked scryed and think it's quite unique. I didn't like first few eps(got forced to watch it by friend) but started to like later eps where things get quite serious. It will be either love or hate situation when you watch scryed.

sCRYed kicks @$$. Enough said right there. In my personal opinion the best show to come out rather recently (recently being within 1-2 years). I got the DVD box with all of the DVDs. Certainly one I'd watch again. The first DVD is a little slow...but once ya hit disc 2 things really pick up and you begin to really get into it. Lately anime has been following some trends that I haven't been too happy about. But sCRYed is something that I find VERY refreshing in today's anime lot. Definitley pick it up. Especially cause once ya hit volume 3, you'll be addicted. That is of course if you like action anime like I do.

sCRYed is arguably the most hyped-up one-on-one action series this side of DBZ. I agree with the person who said it doesn't really hit its stride until the second DVD, but it is a series that will grow on you. The intensity and determination of Ryuho and Kazuma (the two main characters and combatantats) will draw you in, and I found Kazuma's attitudes on things to be refreshing; this is a bruiser with a philosophy. The series really boils down to a "be true to yourself" message.
Is sCryed a great series? No. Is it a deep series? Not really. Is it an artistic masterpiece? No. But it is an entertaining series that carries a lot of extras on the DVDs.

I thought it tended to get repetitive and boring. Maybe the whole "quest for power" thing just doesn't appeal to me very much. And the last episode is completely worthless.

Think X-men... certain people with special powers who are persecuted. I found the beginning to be ordinary too, but it definitely picks up when the emotional tension builds between the characters in the anime. It kept me watching the next episode. Not only that, but there are a few surprises throughout the anime to keep you interested.

Sounds cool, I've just ordered the first DVD, I guess there's 26 eps to it in total? and I think there's 6 DVDs selling on Amazon. I like action-oriented anime so i'll probably like it, thanks for the insight.

Yes, there's 6 DVDs. Do be sure you check out the extras on the DVDs, too; some of them are quite good.

I really enjoyed Scryed.
I keep hearing comparisons to X-Men. The main difference is that is has an Ending. X-men doesn't have an ending. The main comparison to X men is that the characters have mutated powers and there's a team of them to take out "the bad guys". However, the team isn't the main focus of the story. The story becomes more involved with the characters and their individual beliefs and motivations.
I'm not knocking Xmen, but I hate to see Scryed labeled as a clone. There are elements that are similar, but the line stops at the mutated powers and the prejudice against the Lost Ground.
There's a different reason why the characters in Scryed have mutated powers. They are called "Alters". They were born with powers because of an upheavel in the earth's crust, which was seperated in Kanagawa Prefecture. It was renamed the "lost ground". After that, 2% of the population of the Lost Ground was born with powers.
That's my argument. The series rocked. At least give it a try if you like action anime.

SCRYED is awesome. The first few episode were okay and I thought it was gonna be another typical show. But damn it get intense later on with some sad moment too and some twist. A lot of intensity especially by the two main character and thier motivation.
I wouldn't say it's an X-Men clone. More like a "beef-up" version of X-men. (taking the original concept and making it better).
Now taht you mention season 2. I can't wait.
