I'm wondering what people on the board think of having the North American Manga Distributers together to promote a Free Manga Day?

i would like that just you know a few chapters of a series not an entire novel, sounds good maybe darkhorse and del rey? or tokyopop or all!

I think such a day would rule. Manga now costs more then most new comics so being able to get free manga can save you much more cash then just a few comics.

FREE MANGA DAY?! Dude! That'd be cool! If that day were to happen, I could get other cool stuffs or play more rounds of Initial D at the arcade!

That would be awsome!!! But there would definitely have to be a limit of how much they can distibute or the companies would go bankrupt.

Yeah! But just ONE day of the year that would be nice! And watch, I'd probably miss out on it for something very stupid like.
But, I don't think they'd go bankrupt over ONE day.

Right now what I have been running into localy is an offering where if you buy any two mangas you get a free sampler that has chapters from several different mangas. However, I don't know if this is going on every where.

That would be good if that happened EVERYWHERE! People would see other new manga are coming out, therefore people would buy more. |

I say have it the same day as Free Comic Book Day. We'll compete with them.

I think that they should tak a poll a couple months before hand, so they can see what the most popluar manga is at the time. Which ever one wins they can sell it at half price. (a win- win situation)
