That key visual is for the Dancing Very Merry Christmas audio drama they've been putting up on YouTube since December, not IV.

edit: Fixed.

Still waiting on someone to sub those videos, but yeah, the key visual is not connected with the anime coming out next year.

On the one hand, I am looking forward to Invisible Victory. On the other... I've heard the plot of the later novels goes to Code Geass levels of crazy. And from what I've seen of it in Super Robot Wars V, that seems to be true. (of course there it's plot is married to Cross Ange.)

First of all it's awesome that this interview was able to happen. Good on you ANN.

Secondly if Gatoh said IV will adapt from vol 6 onwards then I think it's safe to assume DVMC is indeed going to be animated despite the audio drama that we're already getting. Which is awesome because I was scared that it was going to be skipped.

Ah can't wait for this to start airing!

If Sousuke had Bonta-kun early on, Gauron wouldn't last past his debut episode Laughing

It's great that we may get a chance to have all of the Full Metal Panic novels animated (and hopefully the remaining light novels published in the US).

It's not likely, but I'd LOVE IT if the "Continuing On My Own" novel was animated as a movie rather than a television series. It's such a tense sequence of events that I think a 1.5 to 2 hour theatrical presentation would really benefit it.

Without a shadow of a doubt the anime adaptation I'm MOST hype for. If Dancing Very Merry Christmas gets animated I'm hoping it's a stand alone OVA instead because of how long it is.

They couldn't palate that type of character.

Did he really use "palate" as a verb?

Also, Shikidouji is one name. It's not Shiki Douji.

Other than that, it was a very enjoyable interview. I'm happy you asked about ABP's names. Smile Looking forward to the next FMP series.

So it sounds like an adaptation that will adapt the later story where things are much more serious and the overall tone is darker. TSR was pretty mild compared to the events which will transpire as things come to a head. I don't wanna toss any spoilers.. but if this goes where I think this is going.. there will be no comedy element this time.

You guys are getting such great interviews! I hope you have some lined up for Otakon and Crunchyroll's con.
My favorite part of FMP is Fumoffu, so the reveal that this part doesn't have much comedy is a bummer. Gotoh may find comedy harder to write, but he's good at it. And he likes Deadpool and listens to Kanye West's earlier (funnier) stuff, so I hope he's inspired to write more comedy in the future.

That was a very interesting tidbit about Horiuchi Osamu from Shikidouji. I had no idea.
