Great news! Before I play Shenmue III, I'd love to replay Shenmue, and actually complete Shenmue II (my original Xbox hard drive crashed back then and I never restarted it) without having to set up my Dreamcast or Xbox Smile

I'm excited for this. I've never played the games, but the first Shenmue was the reason I wanted to buy a Dreamcast back when it was still an active console. It being discontinued is why I never got one.

And the fact this will be on PC makes it that much better, since that's my primary gaming system.

Hell yes! My PS4 is ready! Was hoping they'd do this.

not the news i was expecting, but it's more than welcome news.

i hope they sell well so they will consider more PC ports of their Dreamcast and Xbox classic titles.

Just played it last year again but I would still buy it and play it once more. Also nice to have the japanese audio for the first game... though I'll kinda miss the "I see..." Razz

I would agree but knowing Sega, it'll probably just be Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 again like last gen.

At least with Shenmue, there's the third game to look forward to so this collection will probably do fine with the people still looking forward to that game.

Absolutely loved 1&2 when they first came out, and I am definitely getting 3 when it releases; but games have moved on massively for the past 20 years, I can't imagine they would have aged well. If it was a HD remaster then ofc it's a different story.

As one who sat out the whole Dreamcast years between Sega Genesis and Sony Playstation One, what, um....IS Shenmue, exactly?
Fighting game? Adventure RPG?

(I'm still a little cautious, after being first-day excited for the Secret of Mana PS4 HD-remaster, playing it, and realizing....gee, were cartridge JRPG's really so simplistic back then? Confused )

That's my concern too, especially with the Yakuza series pretty much doing what Shenmue did in an admittedly less realistic but more fun manner.
