From my experience watching Macross movies, Kawamori does have a penchant of making something not good but interesting.
This definitely sounds like one of those movies. |

Well, it appears the other Labyrinth is better. Then again this doesn’t have “Magic Dance.”
In all seriousness it sounds like it has a lot of interesting ideas, and no way to actually communicate them. |

Every time I read about an anime that's all Kawamori's plot I get the impression stuff like Macross and Escaflowne were good more because of everybody else involved.
