So far as SAO: Lost Song goes:

From what has been reported elsewhere about a recent online interview, they haven't exactly ruled out a custom character option entirely, but they aren't in any hurry to guarantee there being one either. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what they finally decide upon there.

At least there may be a better job done on the English translation this time around.

As a suggestion, when reviewing PS Vita games, could you attempt to include whether they will run on the Playstation TV (Vita TV) now that it's been released in North America?

I second. I'm picking mine up on UK launch. I know Japanese games do have a logo on if they are PS/Vita TV compatable.

My copy of Onechanbara Z2 Chaos has shipped from CD Japan, so bating any problems I shall have it in 2 weeks or so.

I'm still annoyed that Story of Seasons hasn't been given a European release date, it looks way better than Lost Valley.

I suspect some fans would prefer a PC version of the never-officially-translated Valkyria Chronicles 3, but Sega is evidently starting from scratch.

Funny you should mention that: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2904923

I still find it quite interesting we got acquainted with Kurt, Riela and Imca through Project X Zone rather than from their game of origin.

Chaos Rings III: Prequel Trilogy: To be honest, I've only every played the first Chaos Rings and completed all five stories 100%. I loved the game a lot as it was definitely a step up above other possible RPG choices for smartphones (though I can't discount Drakerider either, as it too is a step above the rest). I never got around to playing Omega or II, though I've heard Omega is somewhat disappointing due to there being only one story segment since it's a prologue to the first game and you only play as Vieg. I also heard the translation lacks polish in quite a few places. III's art definitely got my attention in a different way when I first saw screenshots, but it's largely disjointing considering it looks like typical generic anime art compared to the other three titles.

Super Hero Generation: You forgot Lost Heroes, Todd. That was a unique one.

Tales of the World: Reve Unitia: I would have loved for this to come over as my 3DS library is lacking RPGs, but yes, the large number of characters means pooling together all the union actors for each of them and that's something North America just isn't able to do due to conflicts. I guess they could go the same route as Project X Zone and just translate the dialogue while leaving the voices alone, but I know that's the exact reason the localized Tales of Hearts R is being looked at with some venom (that, and the lower quality translation work). On the other hand, they could have finally given Tales of the Tempest characters some actual English dub voices, which would have been nice. Spike Spencer could be a good choice for Cauis (just throwing that out there).

I disagree with your winner's choice. First place should've gone to either Nicholas Petkotsky (the one who got Kreugered by Sephiroth in his dream), Joseph Reynolds (for his hilarious take on Playboy the Game) or Ricky Larrew (for his vivid recollection of Barney's Hide and Seek).

In other news, people are upset that Nintendo's Amiibos do not look like the promotional ones we saw. I myself am wondering if that is just for America or if the Japanese Amiibos will look that way too. Japanese versions of peripherals and toys are generally much higher quality than American ones. The pre-order figure for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are a good example, as are the differences in Super Sentai/Power Rangers toys, or Disgaea 4 being packaged with a Nendoroid in Japan while the american version got a cheap trading figure. I just have to wonder if Japanese Amiibos will work with American systems if there is indeed a difference. If nothing else, I plan on importing Famicom color R.O.B. which I assume will be Japan exclusive.

Square Enix still makes games in the style of their old Super NES titles—check out Final Fantasy Dimensions or Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for fitting examples. Yet composer Nobuo Uematsu, who crafted the music for the first ten Final Fantasies, has something more elaborate in mind. In an interview from a recent Lapis Dream Orchestra pamphlet, Uematsu mentions that he'd like to make another 2-D game with the same team that made Final Fantasy VI. That team would include series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, who left Square and founded Mistwalker ten years ago. Such a game exists only in Uematsu and Sakaguchi's conversations for now, but the hint of it remains enough to stir up gossip.

Please, please, please let this come to fruition. Sakaguchi's 3D games have been great for the most part, but this would really be a treat for those of us who grew up with the SNES RPGs.

Murder, She wrote:

As it turned out, every single copy that came down the line that day was marked for one store and one store alone. Tote after tote of the tired punchline kept coming down, all set for the same place. In the end, that poor store (I think it was in a university somewhere) had over 230 copies of one of the industry's biggest flops to clog its shelves.

I could see that. We once saw on their shelves an aisle-full copies of City of Heroes and Villains, and we thought, "Who's gonna buy all these?! This is too much!" Laughing

Just a heads up, you may want to take out the blurb about Akiba's Trip Ps4. XSeed actually hasn't even officially given out a release date.

A lot of horror stories about Silent Hill. I was going to write about my experience with Amnesia but I only realized I forgot about it till the morning after the deadline.

You know, games like those two Ukiyo games make me wonder. Japan constantly makes video games set in their country's history where notable historical figures become one-man armies taking on huge waves of enemy soldiers. (And sometimes other countries' historical figures, like with the Dynasty Warriors games.) How come you don't see that coming from other countries? Why doesn't the United States ever release a game where, say, you play as Andrew Jackson kicking butt and taking names in the War of 1812?

The plot summary of Tales of the World: Reve Unitia actually reminds me of Twice Upon a Time: A world of dreams is under threat and authorities have become overwhelmed, so the guardians of this dream world look for any heroes they can find.

Regarding Harvest Moon 3D, why would an animal lover be named Hunter? That's an unfortunate name.

Wait, I thought the Americans aren't getting anything at all for OR/AS. Well, there's 20 Potions, but that isn't a peripheral nor a toy.

Or is that part of your point?
