New Digimon TV Series to Assemble Franchise's Heroes

The October issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Newtype magazine is revealing on Saturday that the upcoming Digimon Xros Wars: Toki o Kakeru Shōnen Hunter-tachi television anime series will bring together the lead characters from the previous entries in the Digimon franchise as Digimon Hunters. Digimon Xros Wars: Toki o Kakeru Shōnen Hunter-tachi will serve as the second year or third season of the Digimon Xros Wars storyline when it premieres on October 2.
TV Asahi producer Tomoharu Matsuhisa, Toei Animation producer Hiroyuki Sakurada will return for the new series, but Yukio Kaizawa (Digimon Tamers, Gegege no Kitarō, Jigoku Sensei Nube) will be the new series director.
Among the new castmembers, Marina Inoue will play a mysterious new boy named Tagiru Akashi who will hold the key to the story. Kumiko Watanabe will voice Gumdramon, the main Digimon creature of the third Digimon Xros Wars season. Tetsuya Kakihara and Houko Kuwashima will play the Digimon partner Ryōma Mogami and Ren Tobari, respectively. Megumi Han and Yumi Sudou round out the cast as Airu Suzaki and Mami Kisaki.
