Alice in the Country of the Toy Box slated for PSP on December 22

The QuinRose game company began streaming the opening movie for the Alice in the Country of the Toy Box (Omochabako no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Wonder World~) fan disc visual novel on its official website on Wednesday. Alice in the Country of the Toy Box is a female-oriented romance adventure game related to QuinRose's other Alice in the Country of Hearts titles. The series re-imagines Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland fantasy novel.

The Alice in the Country of the Toy Box fan disc continues the story from the original Alice in the Country of the Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World game, the Alice in the Country of the Clover: Wonderful Wonder World sequel, and the Alice in the Country of the Joker: Wonderful Wonder World side story visual novels. Part of the romance adventure takes place in the Alice in the Country of Hearts fantasy world, and the rest of the game is set in the magic school from QuinRose's Mahou Tsukai to Goshujin: Wizard and the Master visual novel.

Alice in the Country of the Toy Box will ship in Japan for PlayStation Portable on December 22. The regular edition's retail price will be 5,700 yen (about US$74) while the limited edition will cost 8,500 yen (about US$110) at retail.

Manga creator Aoi Kurihara launched a new adaptation of Alice in the Country of Hearts on Ichijinsha's Zero-Sum Online site last week. Tokyopop published the first Alice in the Country of Hearts (Heart no Kuni no Alice - Wonderful Wonder World) manga adaptation in North America, and Yen Press has since picked up the license. Seven Seas Entertainment announced last month that it licensed the manga adaptations of another game in the franchise, Alice in the Country of Clover (Clover no Kuni no Alice). The Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World anime film opened in Japan in July.
