When life throws you a curve ball or two, you may need to have a bit of mental escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. And nobody knows the virtue of enjoying simple pleasures of life like the cast of Non Non Biyori. Unfortunately, not everybody can live in the countryside, or even get there very easily. To remedy this problem, Cospa has designed a number of new Non Non Biyori goods, designed to take a piece of simplicity and innocence with you wherever you go.
First up is this the amazingly discreet Non Non Biyori "Nyanpasu Neck Tie," for 4,860 yen (about US$ 47.59). On the outside, it appears to be your normal, purple stripped necktie, perfect for any other business day. But once the necktie is flipped over, the adorable Renge is revealed, hiding in the folds and ready to great you with her signature "Nyanpasu." The slip to secure the tie in the back also reads "Year 2, Class 1, plus Elementary Year 1, Intermediate Year 1, Intermediate Year 3, and Elementary Year 5," to represent the age diverse class of the Asahigaoka Branch School.
Next, for those who have no problem exclaiming their love of Non Non Biyori to rest of the world, Cospa has designed the official Non Non Biyori "Nyanpasu Tote Bag." With "Nyanpasu" written across it in large bold ink print style, and signed by Renge herself, this is the perfect item for carrying the burdens of daily life about while still being able to greet the day with an energetic outlook. The tote bag will cost a total of 2,160 yen (about US$ 21.16) and is made of a simple canvas material.
Finally, for those who are want to come home from a hard day and relax with a refreshing cup of tea, Cospa is releasing the Non Non Biyori "Nyanpasu Tea Cup." Running at a very affordable 972 yen (about US$ 9.52), one side of the cup features Renge, once again ready with a cheerful "Nyanpasu." The other side of the cup showcases Renge and Hotaru holding up the sign for the Asahigaoka Branch School.
The goods can be purchased one of two different ways. The necktie will be available at Comiket 86 from August 15 to 17, while the tote bag and teacup will be for sale at this year's Wonder Festival in Chiba. For those who cannot attend the events, the items will be available through Cospa's online store. However, they will only be available during certain parts of the month of September. The tote bag will be on sale during the 10 days in the middle of September, while the tea cup will be for sale during the last 10 days of the month. The necktie will only be available online at the very end of the month, making it a highly desired item.
It was announced back in April that Non Non Biyori would be getting a second season. Atto launched the manga in Monthly Comic Alive in 2009, and Media Factory published the manga's sixth volume last September. The first season of the anime from director Shinya Kawamo and anime studio SILVER LINK was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks announced last October that it had licensed the first series for North American digital and home video release.
