Death Note Day at NYC Kinokuniya Books on September 14

To commemorate the U.S. release of Shusuke Kaneko's first live-action Death Note film on DVD on September 16, the New York City branch of Kinokuniya Books will be holding a Death Note Day sponsored by Viz Pictures and the New York Anime Festival (NYAF) on September 14. Kinokuniya will offer a 10% discount on all Viz Media purchases to customers who show up to the event in Death Note cosplay. Café Zaiya will be giving out Japanese sweets, and visitors will be able to enter a drawing for prizes from Viz Pictures and NYAF. The event runs from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. In the story, a teenaged vigilante can put people to death by writing their names in a supernatural notebook.
