Japanese Anime TV Ranking, September 29-October 5

Even as their Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea film continues to play in theaters nationwide, Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle scored an 18.7 rating when it aired on Friday, October 3 at 21:00. The television special that continues the live-action adaptation of Masanori Morita's Rookies manga received a 10.0 rating when it ran on October 4 at 18:30. Fumihiko Sori's award-winning live-action film adaptation of Taiyo Matsumoto's Ping Pong manga ran on October 4 at 2:10 and earned a 2.0 rating.
