RDG Red Data Girl TV Anime's 1st Advance Promo Streamed

Saori Hayami stars as girl who wants to be normal despite hidden secret

The official website for P.A. Works' television anime adaptation of Noriko Ogiwara's RDG Red Data Girl modern fantasy novel series began streaming the first advance promotional video. The video and the site reveal that Saori Hayami will play the lead character Izumiko Suzuhara.

The modern fantasy story revolves around Izumiko, a girl raised within the confines of Tamakura Shrine, one of the Kumano shrines that are part of a World Heritage site. However, after Izumiko spent practically her entire life at Kumano until middle school, she wants to become a normal girl. it was decided that she and her childhood friend Miyuki would enroll in Hōjō High School in Tokyo. On a school trip to Tokyo, a mysterious entity known as Himegami appears and a terrible incident occurs. Izumiko's family carries a great secret that Izumiko is about to learn.

Toshiya Shinohara (Black Butler, InuYasha films, The Book of Bantorra) is directing the series and Michiko Yokote (Bleach, Gintama, Princess Tutu) is handling the scripts. Minako Shiba (Black Butler, .hack franchise, Noir, Letter Bee) is adapting Mel Kishida's original character designs. Musicians myu and Masumi Itou (Bungaku Shōjo) are scoring the soundtrack.

The anime will air next year. Ranmaru Kotone (Blood-C) launched a manga adaptation of the light novels last month.
