The anime streaming service Daisuki announced on Friday that it is partnering with Aniplex of America to stream the Monogatari Series Second Season television anime series as it airs. The anime will be Daisuki's first simulcast anime title. The series will premiere on Daisuki exclusively on July 6 a few hours after its broadcast in Japan. The simulcast will be free and in HD quality.
Daisuki will also stream Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, and Nekomonogatari (Black). Monogatari Series Second Season and Nekomonogatari (Black) will be available for streaming in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari will be available for viewers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa.
Daisuki is also hosting its first United States industry panel at Anime Expo on July 4. The panel will include a screening of Nekomonogatari (Black) with English subtitles. Producer Mitsutoshi Kubota (Nisemonogatari, Bakemonogatari, ef: a tale of melodies, Mahoromatic) will be a guest at that panel, and attendees will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Additionally, Daisuki revealed that its e-commerce platform will launch later this month, and the company is hosting a contest to commemorate the occasion.
Akiyuki Shinbo is directing the series and is acting as series script supervisor along with Fuyashi Tou. Akio Watanabe is serving as character designer and chief animation director at SHAFT, and Satoru Kousaki is handling the music. The cast remains unchanged from Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari.
Aniplex of America announced last week that it has acquired the rights to both Nekomonogatari (Black) and Monogatari Series Second Season and noted then that both series will stream this summer.
