Ghibli Gives Filmgoers 1 Million Kaguya Prologue Blu-rays/DVDs

posted on by Egan Loo

Starting on November 16, Studio Ghibli is giving away 1 million The Tale of Princess Kaguya Prologue Blu-ray Discs and DVDs to filmgoers in 344 theaters throughout Japan. This is Ghibli's first such large-scale promotion. Moviegoers will receive the discs while supplies last.

The discs will contain six minutes of footage from the 137-minute film, Isao Takahata's first in 14 years. The same footage ran during the press presentation on September 17, and about 80 theaters in Japan are also now screening the same footage between featured presentations.
