Funimation will offer 6 Broadcast Dubs for spring season

Funimation Entertainment announced on Friday that it will simulcast the following anime series on its FunimationNow service:

  • Endride
  • And you thought there is never a girl online? (Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko ja nai to Omotta?)
  • Kumamiko - Girl Meets Bear (Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear
  • Shonen Maid
  • Three Leaves, Three Colors (Sansha Sanyō)
  • Concrete Revolutio season 2 (Concrete Revolutio: Chōjin Gensō The Last Song)

In addition, Funimation announced that Endride, And you thought there is never a girl online?, Shonen Maid, Three Leaves, Three Colors, and My Hero Academia will get Broadcast Dubs, where an English-dubbed version will premiere several weeks after the original Japanese version.

Most titles will stream one to three days after they air in Japan. FunimationNow will stream the second season of Concrete Revolutio two days before it airs in Japan

Funimation previously announced that it has the international rights to My Hero Academia and will stream the series as it airs. Aniplex of America licensed Hai-furi and the second season of Asterisk War will stream both series on several streaming services, including FunimationNow. Funimation will also continue to stream One Piece, Rainbow Days and club Rainbow, and the second season of Assassination Classroom. Assassination Classroom will continue its Broadcast Dub.

Endride will premiere in Japan on April 2 at 26:30 (effectively, April 3 at 2:30 a.m.), and then later episodes will run on Saturdays at 25:55 (Sundays at 1:55 a.m.).

Funimation describes the story:

Beneath the earth's surface lies the unknown world, Endra. After touching a mysterious crystal, Shun Asanaga finds himself in this new land and his only way home lies with helping the vengeful Prince Emilio. Recently imprisoned, Emilio vows to take back his rightful throne from King Delzaine.

Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Sengoku Collection) is directing the anime at the studio Brains Base (Natsume's Book of Friends, Rin-ne). Touko Machida (Show by Rock!!, Lucky Star, The Idolm@ster) is in charge of the series scripts. Luna Sea is performing the theme song "Limit." Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin, Buso Renkin) and Kazushi Hagiwara (Bastard!!) designed the characters.

And you thought there is never a girl online? will premiere in Japan on the Tokyo MX channel at 11:30 p.m. on April 7. It will also premiere on the Sun TV and BS11 channels on April 7 at 26:00 and 24:30, respectively (effectively, on April 8 at 2:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.).

Funimation describes the series, based on the light novels by Shibai Kineko:

After Hideki Nishimura confesses to a girl online, he is shocked when she turns out to be a boy. Traumatized, he swears to never trust any "girl" players. That is, until one confesses to him! Ako Tamaki is a beautiful loner who has trouble differentiating between what's reality and the online world she spends so much of her time in. Can Hideki and his guild friends help fix socially inept Ako?

Shinsuke Yanagi (Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, Momokyun Sword) is directing the anime at Project No. 9, and Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky) is in charge of series composition.

Kumamiko - Girl Meets Bear will premiere in Japan on AT-X on April 3 at 11:30 p.m., and it will also air on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, Higashinippon Broadcasting, Niigata Broadcasting, and BS11.

Masume Yoshimoto's original manga follows Machi, a middle school student who serves as a shrine maiden (miko) at a Shinto shrine enshrining a bear (kuma) in the recesses of a certain mountain in Japan's northern Tōhoku region. Machi's guardian is a talking bear named Natsu, and one day Machi says to Natsu, "I want to go to a school in the city." The worrywart Natsu then gives Machi — who is ignorant in the ways of the world — a set of trials that she must pass in order to be able to survive in the city.

Kiyoshi Matsuda (episode director for Wagnaria!!, Natsume's Book of Friends season 3, Durarara!!) is making his directorial debut with the series at Kinema Citrus and EMT Squared. Pierre Sugiura (Yuyushiki, Barakamon) and Masao Iketani are writing the scripts, and Hiroyuki Saida (My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.

Shonen Maid will premiere in Japan on TBS on Thursday, April 7 at 1:58 a.m. (effectively Friday morning). It will also air on CBC, Sun-TV, and BS-TBS.

Funimation describes the story, based on Ototachibana's manga:

After the loss of his mother, Chihiro is left alone. With no known family left, he has to find a way to move on. Things aren't looking good until a chance encounter with the young and handsome Madoka—who turns out to be his wealthy uncle! Madoka offers him his home and all Chihiro has to do is clean up after the messy, irresponsible man. The problem? This job requires a uniform—a maid outfit!

Yusuke Yamamoto (Welcome to the NHK, Sgt. Frog, Aquarion Evol) is directing the series at studio 8-Bit. Yoshiko Nakamura (Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Super Lovers, Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga) is in charge of the series composition, and Kana Ishida (The irregular at magic high school, Aquarion Evol, Wakaba Girl) is adapting the character designs for animation. Tomohiro Yamada is composing the music.

Three Leaves, Three Colors will premiere in Japan on April 10.

Funimation describes the story, based on Cherry Arai's manga:

Futaba Odagiri is the energetic transfer student who befriends Teru Hayama, the class president who is meaner than she looks, and Youko Nishikawa, a former rich girl who still acts like a princess. Three very different girls who only share one thing: the kanji for leaf in their names. Balancing school and life is hard enough, but what about dealing with clashing personalities on top of it all?

Yasuhiro Kimura (Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! episode director) is directing the series at animation studio Doga Kobo. Hideaki Koyasu (Lance N' Masques, GJ Club) is handling series composition and Jun Yamazaki (episode animation director for Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash!, Muromi-san) is designing the characters.

Concrete Revolutio's second season will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX and KBS Kyoto on April 3 at 11:00 p.m. The anime will also air on Sun TV and on BS11.

The first series premiered in Japan on October 4. Anime Consortium Japan is co-producing the anime, and it also streamed the first anime season on Daisuki as it aired in Japan. Funimation Entertainment also streamed the season.

Funimation describes the story:

What if superhumans were real? Even better, what if every fabled superhuman existed at the same time, in the same place? Titans from outer space, life forms from a mystical world, phantoms and goblins from ancient times, cyborgs created by scientists, relics that rose out of the ruins of ancient civilizations. In another Japan, it's not just a question of “what if”—it's a reality. Some of the superhumans choose to keep their identities a secret, while others bask in their superhuman fame. Jiro Hitoyoshi, member of the Superhuman Bureau, keeps track of their doings.

The anime reunites the main staff from Fullmetal Alchemist. Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist, Un-Go, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Hanamaru Kindergarten) is directing the series at BONES, and Shou Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Un-Go, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, Martian Successor Nadesico) is in charge of series composition. Masafumi Mima (Attack on Titan, Paprika) is serving as sound director. Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, live-action Terraformars) is joining Gen Urobuchi and Masaki Tsuji on writing scripts for the second season.
