Inti Creates' Azure Striker Gunvolt Game Gets Anime in Winter 2016

Game developer Inti Creates announced during a panel at Anime Expo on Sunday that an anime adaptation of its Azure Striker Gunvolt (Armed Blue Gunvolt in Japan) Nintendo 3DS game has been green-lit. LandQ Studios is producing the anime. The anime is being targeted for a winter 2016 release as an "on-demand" original video animation (OVA), and INTI Creates is considering releasing the anime on the Nintendo e-Shop. Inti Creates is streaming an announcement trailer in both English and Japanese.

The anime's staff includes:

  • Director of Photography: Polunt Sai
  • Filming: LandQ Studios
  • Background Art Director: Kenichi Kurata (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine)
  • Background Art: Baku Production
  • Color Design: Kanna Terabun (Battle Girls - Time Paradox, Ozma, Robot Girls Z)
  • In-Between Check: Mikie Matsuyama (Oreshura, Oreimo 2)

Inti Creates also announced at the panel that it plans to release the Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack on September 30. The set will feature the Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 games in a physical package for the first time in North America. Yacht Club Games (Shovel Knight) is publishing the set.

Inti Creates developed the first game with concepts by Keiji Inafune of Mega Man/Rockman fame, and released the game in Japan and North America in August 2014. Inti Creates is developing the Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 sequel game, which is slated for this summer.
