Crunchyroll to Simulcast The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!, School Babysitters, Mitchiri Neko Anime

Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!, School Babysitters (Gakuen Babysitters), and Mitchiri Neko anime as part of its winter 2018 simulcast season.
Crunchyroll will premiere The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! starting on January 8 at 10:00 a.m. EST in North America, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Latin America. Crunchyroll streamed an English-subtitled trailer.
The anime adapts Shiratori Shirow and Shirabi's The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! (Ryūō no Oshigoto!) light novel series. The series' first English volume debuted on BookWalker's website this fall. The company describes the original novels' story:
The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! is about a teenage boy named Yaichi Kuzuryuu who happens to be the strongest shogi player in history, holding the top title of “Ryuo” (Dragon King). One fateful day, shogi-loving elementary student, Ai Hinatsuru, appears before him claiming that he promised to be her master. But was such a promise really ever made? Thus began their master and disciple relationship!Who can match their level of intensity and passion for shogi?
Shinsuke Yanagi (Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, And you thought there is never a girl online?, Momokyun Sword) is directing the anime at the studio project No. 9 (Angel's 3Piece, And you thought there is never a girl online?). Fumihiko Shimo (New Game!, Clannad, Infinite Stratos) is in charge of the series scripts, and Akane Yano (And you thought there is never a girl online?) is designing the characters based on Shirabi's original novel illustrations. Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Fate/stay night, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma ½) is composing the music.
Crunchyroll will premiere School Babysitters on January 7 at 11:00 a.m. EST in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Latin America (including Central America and South America).
Shūsei Morishita is directing the anime at animation studio Brains Base. Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru 2, Orange) is handling series composition, Satoshi Motoyama (Aho-Girl, Skip Beat!) is serving as sound director, and Mina Ōsawa (sub-character designer/chief animation director on Kiss Him, Not Me) is designing the characters. Ruka Kawada (Is the order a rabbit?, Kiss Him, Not Me) is composing the show's music.
Hari Tokeino's original manga centers on the brothers Ryūichi and Kotarō Kashima. Ryūichi is in high school and Kotarō is still a toddler. After their parents are killed in a plane crash, the two brothers find themselves living with the chairwoman of the Morinomiya Academy, who herself lost her son and daughter-in-law in the same accident. The chairwoman, however, has one stipulation for the brothers in order to live with her: Ryūichi has to work at the academy's daycare center as a babysitter.
Crunchyroll will premiere Mitchiri Neko on January 8 at 4:15 a.m. EST worldwide outside of Asia.
The franchise centers on the cats known as "Mitchiri Neko," who seem to multiply greatly when left alone. (As the official YouTube channel for the franchise explains, "'Mitchiri' means sticking together or packed, and 'neko' means a cat in Japanese.") The cats are able to speak and mimic human behavior. The franchise has a variety of cat characters who have distinct personalities.
The franchise began as a four-panel manga on the Famitsu.com website in 2012, and it later moved to the Famitsu app. The manga currently runs on DeNA's Manga Box app. The manga inspired a smartphone game titled Mitchiri Neko Mix that debuted in January 2014. The franchise also inspired a series of short animations that began in the official Mitchiri Neko YouTube channel in 2014.
Crunchyroll also announced that its stream of Record of Grancrest War will begin on January 5 at 11:30 a.m. EST in North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Ireland. Crunchyroll streamed an English-subtitled video.
Aniplex of America will also stream the series on Hulu.
