Resident Evil 2 Remake Game's Launch Trailer Streamed

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Game launched for PS4, Xbox One, PC on Friday

The official PlayStation YouTube channel began streaming a launch trailer for CAPCOM's remake of the Resident Evil 2 survival horror game on Friday.

The game launched for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Friday.

CAPCOM released a Collector's Edition of the game exclusively at GameStop and EB Games for US$199.99 (239.99 CAD). The Collector's Edition features the game, special packaging, an extra DLC pack card (featuring two costumes for Leon, three costumes for Claire, and a "Samurai Edge – Albert Model" weapon), the ability to swap the soundtrack with the "original version," a 12-inch Leon S. Kennedy (R.P.D. version) figure, a 32-page "Ben's File" art book, a 25-track digital soundtrack, and a "R.P.D." Renovation Design Poster.

Pre-order bonuses include the "Samurai Edge – Chris Model" and "Samurai Edge – Jill Model" weapons.

The remake has third-person perspective gameplay (changed from the fixed camera angles of the original game), similar to the gameplay introduced in Resident Evil 4.

The original Resident Evil 2 marked the introduction of the character Leon Kennedy, as he finds his first day on the Raccoon City Police Department marked by a sudden zombie infestation in the city. The game also centers on Claire Redfield attempting to find her brother Chris, one of the main characters of the first game.
