Sword Art Online Director's Hello World Anime Film Previews Songs In Trailer

OKAMOTO'S, Official HiGE DANdism, Nulbarich, others compose music for film

The official website for Hello World, the original anime film by director Tomohiko Ito and Graphinica, began streaming a new trailer and teaser trailer for the film on Tuesday. The trailers reveal and preview the film's theme songs "Yesterday" by Official HiGE DANdism and "Shin Sekai" (New World) by OKAMOTO'S.

OKAMOTO'S is part of the film's newly-announced music group "2027 Sound," which also includes Official HiGE DANdism, Nulbarich, OBKR (Nariaki Ofukuro), Yaffle, STUTS, and BRIAN SHINSEKAI. OKAMOTO'S, Official HiGE DANdism, and Nulbarich are each writing a song for the film that will match to certain scenes in the film. Singer AAAMYYY is also performing the vocals for the film's opening song.

The site also revealed a new visual for the film.

The film will open in Japan on September 20, and stars:

The "sci-fi love story" film is set in Kyoto in the year 2027, and will feature famous landmarks such as Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kamo Shrine. The film centers on Naomi Katagaki, a male high school student. One day, a person who calls himself Naomi 10 years from now appears in front of the young Naomi. Together, they must change the future and save a classmate, Ruri, whom the younger Naomi starts to date in three months.

Ito (Sword Art Online franchise, ERASED) is directing the film at Graphinica (Expelled from Paradise). Mado Nozaki (Bablyon novel series, KADO - The Right Answer) is writing the screenplay, and Yukiko Horiguchi (K-ON!, Lucky Star, Tamako Love Story) is designing the characters.

The film is inspiring a manga adaptation by Manatsu Suzuki (Lostorage conflated WIXOSS) and Yoshihiro Sono (Tokyo Ghoul, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress art design). The manga will launch with two chapters in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine on July 19 with a color opening page.
