Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion Smartphone Game's Opening Video Streamed

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Game slated for release in Japan in 2019

Frontwing began streaming the opening movie for the Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion smartphone game on Thursday. The video features the song "Shinsekai" (New World) performed by Yoshino Nanjō.

The "beautiful girl national defense RPG" is slated for release in 2019. The game will be free to play with in-app purchases.

The Grisaia: Phantom Trigger game inspired a crowdfunded anime that opened on March 15 at Tokyo's EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku and at four other theaters in Japan. The Campfire crowdfunding campaign for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger the Animation Stargazer, the sequel to the anime of Frontwing's Grisaia: Phantom Trigger game, reached its 10 million yen (about US$92,000) goal less than 24 hours after it launched on July 26. As of press time, the campaign has raised 16,832,044 yen (about US$159,000). The campaign will end on September 30.

Video game and visual novel translation company Sekai Project launched Frontwing's The Fruit of Grisaia on Steam in 2015 after meeting its Kickstarter goal for a Western release of the game trilogy. Frontwing and Sekai Project have also released other two games, The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia, on Steam. All three of the original games inspired anime and manga adaptations.
