Funimation revealed on Twitter on Wednesday the English dub cast for Kemono Michi: Rise Up (Hataage! Kemonomichi), the television anime of Natsume Akatsuki's Kemonomichi manga. Jeremy Inman is directing the English dub, which premiered on Wednesday on Funimation. The cast includes:
- Tyson Rinehart as Genzō
- Samantha Herek as Hiroyuki
- Emily Hornsby as Shigure
- Leah Clark as Misha
- Gabe Kunda as Wolfgang
Kazuya Miura (DRAMAtical Murder) is directing the anime at ENGI. Touko Machida (Lucky Star, DRAMAtical Murder, Harukana Receive) is in charge of the series scripts. Tomoka Noumi (episode animation director for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Sagrada Reset) is designing the characters.
The manga follows masked wrestler Genzō Shibata, who likes all kinds of animals and creatures. One day he is summoned to another world, where a princess asks him to help kill magical beasts, but he gets mad and puts her in a German suplex. Instead, he begins life as a pet shop owner in the other world.
Akatsuki (KONOSUBA) writes the manga series and Baka & Test - Summon the Beasts artist team Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta are providing the art. The duo launched the manga in Shōnen Ace in November 2016. The fifth compiled volume shipped on September 25.
