Aniplus Asia Airs Simulcast of Pop Team Epic Anime's Remix Version

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
New version features "remixed" voice cast

Aniplus-Asia announced on Sunday that it will stream Pop Team Epic Repeat (remix version), the rebroadcast of the Pop Team Epic television anime series. The show has a remixed voice cast for the rebroadcast version. The anime premiered on Aniplus-Asia on Sunday at 1:00 a.m. GMT +8.

In the first rebroadcast episode, Mami Koyama and Kotono Mitsuishi play Popuko and Pipimi respectively in the first half of the show (they played the characters in episode 12-a in the original run), and Ryūsei Nakao and Norio Wakamoto play Popuko and Pipimi respectively in the second half (they played the characters in episode 3-b of the original run).

The original broadcast featured Masashi Ebara and Houchu Ohtsuka as Popuko and Pipimi in the first episode's first half, and Yūji Mitsuya and Noriko Hidaka as Popuko and Pipimi in the second half.

The television anime series premiered in January 2018. Aniplus-Asia aired the anime as it aired in Japan.

The original anime's full episodes are each 23 minutes long. Each episode has two main parts with much of the same content. The two parts have different voice actors, as well as some different content such as altered jokes.

The anime adapts a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi.
