Season 1 Part 1 in standard and Collectors editions, including the first 12 TV episodes; the Collectors edition will also include a CD of the original soundtrack

Anime Limited is listing standard and Collectors Blu-ray editions of the first volume of the Jujutsu Kaisen TV series - Season 1 Part 1, carrying the first twelve episodes over two Blu-rays. Both editions will be released on May 30.

The Collectors Edition will also include a CD of the original soundtrack to the series, as well as eight art cards and a 40-page booklet including artwork and cast interviews.

Anime Limited describes the story:

"A boy fights... for 'the right death.' Hardship, regret, shame: the negative feelings that humans feel become Curses that lurk in our everyday lives. The Curses run rampant throughout the world, capable of leading people to terrible misfortune and even death. What's more, the Curses can only be exorcised by another Curse.

'Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by Curses, he eats the finger of the Double-Faced Specter, taking the Curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with the Double-Faced Specter. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to the Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the Curses... and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a Curse to exorcise a Curse, a life from which he could never turn back.'

The anime premiered in Japan in October 2020 and aired for 24 episodes.Sunghoo Park (The God of High School) directed the anime at MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: Lost Girls, Banana Fish, Vinland Saga) wrote and supervised the scripts. Tadashi Hiramatsu (His and Her Circumstances, Yuri!!! on Ice, Parasyte -the maxim-) designed the characters. Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yoshimasa Terui, and Arisa Okehazama composed the music.

A second TV season has been announced for 2023.

Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie), a new anime film for the franchise, opened in Japan in December 2021 and came to the U.K. earlier this month.
