Bandai and Manga Unleash Fifth Installment fo Stand Alone Complex

BANDAI ENTERTAINMENT AND MANGA ENTERTAINMENT

UNLEASH FIFTH INSTALLMENT OF

GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX
VOLUME FIVE ON DVD MARCH 22

February 22, 2005, Chicago, IL -- On the heels of a successful first season run on Cartoon Network, Manga Entertainment and Bandai Entertainment are proud to release the fifth volume of “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” in both Standard and Limited Editions versions to debut March 22. Volume 5 contains four action-packed half-hour episodes encoded directly from high-definition masters and superb surround sound plus bonus extras.

“Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex,” originating from the wildly popular manga by Shirow Masamune, combines action, adventure, political intrigue and ethics into a masterfully told sci-fi futuristic anime series. Produced by such anime powerhouses as Production I.G. (Kill Bill) and Director Kenji Kamiyama (Blood: The Last Vampire, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade), the series follows female cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi and her fellow police officers of Section 9 as they hunt down a host of criminals in both the real and online worlds.

“Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Volume 5,” themed “Crime is Everywhere,” takes the Section 9 officers through a series of cases across the world. Section 9 chief Aramaki Daisuke is taken hostage by thieves and a corrupt police officer in London. His unit is later commissioned to prevent the assassination of the Chinese Foreign Minister. Subsequently, a wave of mass kidnappings puts Section 9 opposite an operative as powerful as Major Motoko.
