Daisuke Sakuma Joins the Cast of Kill Blue as Assassin Shin Kohazame

Popular Weekly Shonen Jump Manga by Tadatoshi Fujimaki Heads to TV in April 2026

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Jan. 28, 2026 — KILL BLUE, the hit manga series from Weekly Shonen Jump by Kuroko's Basketball creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki, continues to build momentum ahead of its highly anticipated anime adaptation with the announcement that Daisuke Sakuma has joined the cast as Shin Kohazame, a pink-haired assassin affiliated with the Chinese organization Yugang. The casting news is accompanied by newly released behind-the-scenes recording photos, a new visual, and a comment from Sakuma, offering fans a first look at his take on the character ahead of the series' April 2026 premiere.

A New Assassin Enters the Classroom

Shin Kohazame is assigned to go after Noren Mitsuoka at a middle school, where he finds himself navigating school life alongside the series' protagonist, legendary hitman Jūzō Ōgami. Known for his pink hair, pacifier, and anxious demeanor when separated from it, Shin adds both danger and comedy to the series' unique “assassins-in-school” setup.

Sakuma, a devoted anime fan and Japanese idol best known as a member of Snow Man, who has also appeared in series including Black Clover, shared his enthusiasm for joining the project:

“I'm Daisuke Sakuma, and I'll be voicing Shin Kohazame. I've been reading KILL BLUE since it was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, and even back then, my favorite character was Shin Kohazame. So from the audition, I was determined to land this role. I'm truly thrilled that I was fortunate enough to be chosen to play Shin.

Shin is cool, but also a little strange. He's serious, but also a little strange. I'm going to pour my heart so I can fully capture those sides of him. Thank you, and I look forward to your support.”

Behind-the-scenes photos from the recording session show Sakuma at the microphone, sporting pink hair that mirrors his character's striking visual design.

Set to be one of the most unique action shonen titles of 2026, KILL BLUE blends action and offbeat humor for a “second chance at youth” premise that sets it apart from the pack. The series follows a legendary 39-year-old hitman who is transformed into a 13-year-old boy and sent undercover to a middle school, where an attempt at a normal school life quickly spirals into danger.
