This is an awesome "Chick flick" type series... i.e. great to watch together with your significant other. Only one problem for me -- my wife despises subtitles, and refuses to watch anything that uses them. So I was *very* disappointed when FUNimation announced that they were canceling the English dub and were only doing a subtitled version in the US. I would have bought the dubbed version of this in a heartbeat so my wife could watch it. |

The first two episodes are almost nothing but fanservice and slapstick, and horrible at that, but I stuck it out because there was the *potential* for a good story in there, and I was hoping they'd deliver. And that they did. Episode 3 started having actual plot development, and the story has been getting better from there. It's worth watching if you can survive the first two episodes with your sanity intact. |

I might get called strange for saying so, but I actually *liked* Endless Eight. Despite taking 8 freaking episodes to tell the story (over and over and over again), it felt very much like what you would expect from Haruhi's little universe, and the subtle differences between each of the re-tellings did keep you on your toes if you were observant enough to notice them. |

This is a VERY WELL DONE sex education film aimed at pre-teen girls. It explains everything from what to expect from your first period to the physical differences between boys and girls to how people fall in love, and it's VERY tastefully done. I would consider this a must-watch for any pre-teen girl (and I say that as a parent of a girl who will soon be one). |

If you like tear-jerkers, this series is for you. This "mini-season" offshoot from the Ojamajo Doremi franchise tells a lot of really compelling, deep, stories, and there are episodes in Na-i-sho that I would dare to say you're possibly not human if you're not crying by the end of the episode. Yes, they deal with death in one episode. It's really sad. But it's really well presented, too, and you can't help but think these girls are learning valuable lessons about life from it (and you'll probably learn something too). |

There's a tremendous amount of character development, and despite the strange premise, you can't help but love the characters. Hilarious comedy as well. |

This OAV is a work of art. It's presented very much like a stage play. It's what I would expect to see if it was presented on stage with live actors. The low rating is because it doesn't have the same level of excitement as the other stories in this metaseries, probably necessary because of the presentation format. If you have an appreciation for classic theatre you'll probably enjoy this. |

I'm not generally into Yuri, but this show seems to have a different treatment of it than the stereotype. This show goes really in-depth into the relationship aspect, and as such, it's a good romance story and not a sex show like the sterotype for the genre. |

Within the Magical Girl genre, I think this is one of the best. Once you get past the idea of genetically altered girls with magical powers fighting off aliens, the rest of the show is pretty realistic. The baddies routinely cut off the Mews in the middle of their attacks instead of them magically having time to chant out the spell to invoke the attack without getting hit while they're chanting it. Little details like getting a phone call on your cell phone in the middle of a battle, having to manually clean up the damage caused by the fight afterward instead of it magically disappearing like in other series, people actually getting hurt and having to spend time in the hospital, and the full treatment of romantic relationships between people that go to great depths to explain why and how they really care about each other and not just the superficial "oh I'm going on a date and he's so cool" stuff. Lots and lots of plot twists, and not very many "filler" episodes, either. I enjoyed this series more and more the more of it I watched. |
