Multi-disc brick (think Big O collection, Jubeichan, crest of the stars, etc).

Curiously, the cover art I've seen advertised for the upcoming boxed set looks *exactly* the same as the cover art for a bootleg boxed set I unintentionally bought on eBay a few months back. (That incident taught me a valuable lesson about "too-good-to-be-true" deals on anime on eBay. Sad )

Here's a link to some pictures.
From the looks of it, it is very similar to the Cowboy Bebop boxset, leading me to believe that it isn't a brick.

This is already out I believe, my friend Doug has one that comes with a limited edition Black Escaflowne figure, and he bought it about a year and a half ago. And I researched and it is no boot. Confused How is this "new"?

I've found the DVDs at best buy and media play for under $15.00 each. So I went ahead and bought them individually.

There is a box set out by Bandai. Here's a link I found.

This isn't the new one. I don't know anything about that.

That's the original set. The new one has all 8 volumes of the TV series plus the movie in one collection.

It's also supposed to be discontinued after Christmas.

If you were not excited about the movie then the anime probably won't thrill you, either. The production values on the movie are much, much better than the series (which was only about average in that regard). OTOH, the story in the series is much broader and sets up considerably more romantic complications, which the movie just doesn't have time to do. The movie also takes a somewhat different tack on some of the characters, although the cast is more or less the same in both versions.

Escaflowne has one of the best soundtracks of any show, anime or otherwise, of all time.

Have to agree with that (it's been my most-played CD since I got it a couple of months ago) though perhaps this kind of post is more appropriate in one of the other forums.

Yes, this is the OLD LE set that was released by Bandai several years ago.

Rightstuf doesn't show a picture of the Perfect Collection (TV + Movie) pack yet:
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/X86zv2ViAtibL4zbuj/browse/item/63853/4/0/0

Here is Bandai's listing, although it doesn't say/show what it will look like either:
http://www.bandai-ent.com/products/product_details.cfm?id=414

It seems it comes with music videos, Game footage and other interesting stuff.
