Inuyasha is my favorite show. What do you think of it?

I didn't really like it t the beginning, but once Naraku enters the picture, it gets more interesting! And Sesshoumaru is an added bonus for me ^_^
On a side note, Inu-Yasha really reminds me of the "Journey to the West" story (chinese novel which inspired the anime "Dragonball", and "Saiyuki").
Kagome is Tripitaka, and Inu-Yasha is Goku . Inu-Yasha has a necklace to control his behavior, just like Goku wear this headband thing. They fight demons who are actually spirits of animals. As they try to accomplish their main objective, they also go on little sidequests to help people out.

*LOL* You know, I never thought it like that. But, nah, Inu Yasha not based on JttW. I like Inu Yasha, but the start of bored, execpt the random jokes tossed in there once and a while. All and all, it's a pretty series once it kicked off.

I really tried to like Inu-Yasha, but I just couldn't. Ms. Answerman is particularly obsessed with it, though, so I'm exposed to it a lot. Frankly, the characters bore me. I don't like any of them; not that that's a good reason to dislike a show, but I just don't care at all about any of the characters. Plus, the setting, which is like "generic Ancient Japan", lacks cohesion in my mind. Too many random villages, random demon things.. reminds me of Maze in that the same thing seems to happen every week but it's never very interesting.
Just my opinion.

Yeah, it's like that in the beginning which is why (like most people here apparently) I wasn't too impressed at first. But I have to say it was at least watchable, so I kept watching it and finally the plot started to come together, culminating around in some really good drama/adventure around episode 39. And then it's like they threw all that goodness away and re-started the little repetitive adventures.

I think Inuyasha is great. The diversity of the characters and demons really makes it entertaning. I also like the fact that the show doesn't seem to drag on and on. Things actually happen. And apart from the big issue with Naraku, any other small problem is resolved within a few episodes.
I hope that new episodes air soon.

As much as I'm a huge fan of the manga, I have to say the TV series has been lacking for me. The characterization doesn't seem to match up with the manga and everything seems so rushed. What took 6 or so issues of the manag now fills only one episode. This makes alot of the climaxes less spectacular, and the character revelations are alot less suprising and moving.

I love the Sesshoumaru/Inuyasha relationship that's slowly developed throughout the series, and the way they've developed the brothers in relation to those they travel with. But there are a number of glaring flaws in the series. Few of the 'traveling companion' characters are developed past their same old jokes (Miroku wanting girls to marry him, Kagome's 'osuwari'). They send characters off on random 'lets save this little village from this youkai' adventures in place of developing the characters. There's also the little problem with Naraku being alive. Kill him off and let's move onto something else they can obsessively track down.
I still enjoy watching the series and look forward to when it's not running the filler episodes.
Oh and Zac, you can live with Inuyasha if I'm stuck listening to you talk about Chobits.

I'm fairly impressed with what I've seen of Inu Yasha. It's probably the first Rumiko Takahashi piece that's inspired me to watch its entiriety. (I'm sorry Ranma 1/2 fans, and Urasei Yatsura fans, but those series just drag too much during their latter halves.)
I can agree with the random feel, but personally the art more than makes up for the wandering. Of course, the villians are particularly interesting to me. Sesshoumaru especially. Anyone that cooly confident in his heritage, bordering on outright genocidal arrogance, is tops in my book.
At least as an anime villian. I don't necessarily approve of it "in real life".

Yeah, once all the characters are out, it just random boring craziness. Atleast with UY, it doesn't get too boring.

I think that inuyasha has been good from the start. If your someone who is in to that kind of stuff, like me, then you should have no problem with the show. No matter what the characters are like.

Although I can see it just dragging on and on, with the Inuyasha/Kagome relationship going nowhere, I still can't help but watch.
