It's an collaboration between Production I.G. (Blood+, GITS: 2nd Gig) and Cartoon Network meant to appeal to all audiences. I believe it's like how Big O was done.

What kind of stupid question is this? Like it's not obvious.

And, FYI, I don't even think there IS a Japanese version of EITHER IGPX series, seeing as how they're both CN originals.

I don't see how the second season of The Big O appeals to all audiences.

You can't judge a series you haven't seen yet.

No one ever said anything about DVD. The original's not even available.

Actually, a Japanese version is airing in Japan this month (though I they're only about 2 episodes ahead of the American airing schedule, which makes sense because those 2 episodes have been shown at different cons ever since July).

What kind of stupid question is this? Like it's not obvious . . .

Do you LIKE instigating, or are you serious?

I meant as it was a collaboration between CN and a Japanese studio or production company. In that IGPX was designed to appeal to all audiences, that I'm sure of.

I saw the 5-part miniseries in 2002 and the first 2 episodes of the reworked series at the World CyberGames Expo and listened to DeMarco and Akins do the hype thing. I think I can judge how the series MAY be and am writing a "Early Impressions" review of it right now for my site.

Everything nowadays goes to DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if they did release one in 3-4 months.

Oh. Well anyway, I think a lot of people will like it and alot of people will hate it. There just seemed to be a little D.I.C.E in it, and more than anything that TERRIFIED me.

Read the TZ review. The new series is completely different from what they showed in 2003.
