I am looking for a good drama, horror, sci-fi, or action anime with some romance in it. Any sueestions without romance in them are fine. I want one with a good story, some plot twist, and decent voice acting. I don't want any real big anime that has been shown on Cartoon Netwrok cause I have most likely seen it. I don't want an anime that is too long and starts to put out a bunch of meaningless episodes.(ex.Inuyasha) Some anime that I have enjoyed watch is:

1. Bleach
This is one of my favorite anime. I like the concepts of the anime. The characters are all good. I like the story. This may be a long series but I have not been too displeased with it. The new arc is ok.

2. Elfen Lied
For a short anime(I used to dislike short one) it has changed my mind. I enjoyed this one very much after being tempted to buy it. The story and characters are interesting. The blood shed and violence were good and the concept of a loveable and destructive character in one mind was good.

3.Evangelion
This anime changed my dislike for mechas. I enjoy watching it. I find it interesting try to guess what is all happening. I have not finished it yet but from what I have watched I have been glued to my seat watching it.

4. Fullmetal Alchemist:
When I first seen this anime I looked at it and said "that is not worth watching" but then I decided to watch it. I saw the third episodes and then after that I was hooked. I enjoyed the story, the characters, plot, and all the twists. This anime became one of my favorites after finishing it and I cannot wait to see the movie.

5.Fruits Basket
This was my first anime purchase.(Too bad it was a bootleg) I heard alot of good stuff about it. After getting it I watched it and it was very good. I like the concept of them transforming and it provided some laughs. It also brought some sad feelins throught the anime. The ending was ok. I wish it could have been alittle longer.

I think you might like Konjiki no Gash Bell. It's known as Zatch Bell in America. I've heard some people complain that it's too much like Pokemon. It is in a way, but it's alot more mature. It has alot of great aspects: It's humor style, and the characters just to name a few.

Well if you liked Elfen lied you MIght like Saikano, same length, sort of same idea but not quite. OH yeah and is is way more depressing, it has to do with war and the such, but trust me if you are depressed in any way don't watch this. On the other hand it is an excellent anime.

If you like Evangelion you might like RahXephon. Many people consider this superior to Eva. I my self am on ep 16, and I can tell you the visuals are clean and crisp and the story has my attention. Right now though it is kind of at a slow point, but I am told it picks up.

I don't what you've seen so I am really just going to stop there.

I suggest giving Monster a try. It's about a Japanese doctor in Germany named Tenma who has a great life and a promising carreer but after being fed up with his hospital director playing to city bigshots instead of propper medical procedure saves the life of boy who was shot in the head instead of the mayor losing everything. However, shortly after his boss and fellow doctors are murdered and Tenma is forcibly promoted to the position of his dreams which makes him the prime suspect. He discovers that the boy he saved was actually a serial murderer and is forced to become a fugative in order to uncover the truth about the monster named Johan and clear his name. The only problem is he's being chased by a workaholic German BKA agent, his ex-fiance, and being hounded by a hired killer named Roberto.

Thanks you all. I will check out Saikano, RahXephon, and Monster. Also to the first poster, If you would have read you would have noted not to put anything from CN. Anyone else have any recommendations?

Man, do I love recommending anime.

Shakugan no SHANA: Reminescent of the early episodes of Bleach (before SS arc, with the hollow hunting), but with a more creepy premise and more chibi Rukia as main female lead. Good premise, good execution, great music, great cast of characters. It becomes a little bit formulaic in the middle episodes, but gets back on track and manages to be a very satisfying series with a solid story.

Some people don't seem to like the chibi character designs much, but it doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, I like the character designs.

Mai-HiME: I tie this one to Elfen Lied because I watched this right before watching Elfen Lied. Although Mai-HiME and Elfen Lied don't really have much in common at all, the latter episodes in this series, IMO, have an "Elfen Lied feel." Well, you actually DO have loveable and destructive characters in one mind in this series too (well, not coexisting, but...switching). Great action scenes, and a fast-moving and exciting story. A nice large cast of unique and interesting characters as well (since you seem to appreciate good characters in anime).

RahXephon: Dargonxtc has already mentioned this title, but I have to second this one. Great show; awesome mecha fights, and IMO, way superior to Evangelion. Good cast of characters, fascinating world and plotline.

Chrno Crusade: Honestly reminds me a lot of Fullmetal Alchemist. Like FMA, you have a good story, characters, plot, and yes, twists as well (as well as a change in tone midway). A little bit of fantasy, and the main female lead, Rosette, as been accredited as a "female Edward Elric." Not to mention the main characters also searching for something (actually, someone).

Also, the main male lead, Chrno, is voiced by one of my favorite seiyuu. Ishida Akira.

Ouran High School Host Club: If you like Fruits Basket, you'll like this one. Main female character surrounded by guy leads, and has a lot of the same quirky humor as Fruits Basket did. Not to mention bishounen too (although I don't particularly care for that...). Hilarious and entertaining plot, interesting and funny characters too.

Too bad the main characters don't transform in this series though. Well, the main female lead, Haruhi, *sorta* does...

[EDIT] - Added some bold tags.

An initial thought was Scrapped Princess. It immediately reminded me of Fullmetal Alchemist. The jury is out as to whether it lives up to the hype, but it's definitely worth seeing.

I was actually refering to the fansubs, not the edited version that's being shown on Toonami. I kind of skimmed through your first post, too.

I suggest Keroro Gunsou there is sci-fi, action, romance, and comedy in it. Also One Piece though it may seem childish at some times it can get very serious.
