Hey everyone. I was going through Steam the other day and there always seems to be a plethora of visual novels available. However, there's no way of telling if they're any good.

Sure, there are the Steam reviews, but because Japanese visual novels are so niche as it is, I assume the reviews are at least somewhat biased, since those reviewing them are people who are invested in the genre. I'm coming from the opposite perspective.

I typically don't play visual novels, but really enjoyed Steins;Gate. Just wondering if there are any visual novels available on PC, that may appeal to someone who doesn't typically play them. Preferably of the caliber of Steins;Gate, if that's even possible.

Thanks.

I know it's late but for those who wants
On steam there are some mainstream like

-Umineko When They Cry ,
-Higurashi na noku koro series ,
-Psycho pass,
-danganronpa series,

if you don't mind some romance one which may please the general public ,
-The grisaia series ,
-Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o ,
-Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star-
-A Clockwork Ley-Line: The Borderline of Dusk
-Sorcery Jokers
- Muv Luv
-If My Heart Had Wings
-Katawa Shoujo ( not on steam )

they are all good (some doesn't have all their parts yet translated like Clockwork Ley-Line) and should please more or less to everyone who is not used to japanese VN

My favorite right now is the excellent otome game Ayakashi: Romance Reborn.

It’s available on iOS and Google Play.
