I skimmed through the first few OVAs for this season and thought they were... passable. I mean, I won't watch them until they get a proper dub, and even then it'll be a shame that Mona Marshall is still going to voice Ryoko, but... I dunno. It seems a LITTLE better than Ryo-Ohki 3, but that's still not quite on the level of the entries into the Tenchi Franchise that I would consider good. Anyone else have any opinions?

Every time I see any promotional material for this new series, it just becomes more and more painfully obvious that the artists working on this are struggling to capture the original series' artstyle. I'm glad that they're at least trying to, but there's a distinct lack of confidence in the expressions, the animation, and even the basic anatomy that's on display. I hope it turns out okay, but I have a lot of misgivings.

I was holding out a small amount of hope that this would be less like the third ova and more like the first two, but I'm getting a feeling that's not happening. I'm really hoping Monica Rial isn't going to return as Ryoko. I know I won't ever see Petrea Burchard voicing her again, but Monica is just not a good fit in the slightest.
