Retailer-specific anime releases is surely quite an insidious novelty.
What next? a WHSmith-exclusive ending to a film?

insidious? Really? There's already a retailer exclusive (Zavvi) and it was a film that did well and got a lot of acclaim, so if Sainsburys wanted a special edition of some kind, why would Anime Limited say no?

You people can only fuss about the fact that we are getting great trend - some suppliers stock anime products already and even make special editions available in their stores. This is a thing to be happy about! Few years ago I've seen 'Wind is rising' in Tesco, then 'Death Note' notebooks in Asda, now 'Your Name' gets released, are you not anime fans that you are unhappy about such little things?
