"There is no movie", they said. So does this mean Maki Terashima-Furuta was wrong about that?

I'd be most interested in these if they have alternate animation or backgrounds compared to the TV version.

I'm still confused as to the chronology...
For Japan the films are being promoted like Alternative first, Progressive second.
But here Progressive is airing first... Alternative coming later this year...
What's going on?

Damn brah. Well for one, alternative is already looking to be more "character-centric" and sentimentality emphatic journey through the feelings of lost youth and adolescence than progressive was, which was a large contributing factor as to what bogged down its emotional core. And to be honest, I'm kind of liking Alternative's gold-orange pallet and its more badass and sage-ish-like direction with Haruko. Like i said, my hopes are on Alternative to give me a satisfying flcl sequel
EDIT: I'll say this much; the trailer sure knew how to mask some of progressive's more visually mediocre moments by fast editing it through the show's more kinetically impressive standouts (which were noticeably more deliberately paced through the trailer); sneaky sneaky trailer editors

You'd think that FLCL Progressive was actually awful--not that it didn't live up to the original series--that it was godawful the way you haters talk about it. Speak for yourself. A lot of us loved it.

And that's perfectly fine that you and so many others loved it; I'm glad. Besides, there are the group of people who didn't hate the sequel but still found it to be an average quality series (like me). Hell, i was initially going to give it a 6 before the finale came around. I plan on rewatching progressive in one go real soon to see how i feel about for sure, but as of right now, it was simply an average outing
