Well, it's not like you could denie its high production value. But the general thing that crossed my mind after watching those trailers was that it had seemingly nothing to do with the original premise, the pacing and the general tone at all. Namely the (fantasy?) action part feels like it would tell a completely different story.

Wait... WHAT?! I've seen the trailers for this movie and they don't look anything like Kaiji. I guess it's been re-imagined as an over the top big budget CGI psychedelic action fest staring Michael Douglas? I may have to see this movie, although I'm not expecting to enjoy it unironically...
