Delays after delays after delays....being an anime-only fan of AoT sure is pure suffering. They really could have warned us earlier atleast.

For demanding anime visually and logistically, I can see this becoming common-place, this already occurs with huge western shows like The Walking Dead.

I'm not a big AOT fan but from what I've seen from clips of season 3 it looks really nice, they seem to have visually improved the art and animation every season so far. So I don't think fans should be upset about the next part coming out in April. It will give the team a break and it might help the quality stay consistent.

I remember watching season 1 and in the second half of the season the animation quality dipped a good amount. I think they've learned their lesson from that experience.

I am actually REALLY happy that season 3 is a split cour, because next 12 episodes will be the most action-intensive and emotional part of the AOT franchise, as well as answering most of the questions and connecting all loose threads. it deserves the Top Tier Animation.

Please, WIT (as well as its mother company and part of AOT production committee Production IG) and Kodansha, take your time and make season 3 part 2 AS EPIC AS you can!!!!! I am dying to see those breath-taking action scenes animated!!

PS: In case any anime-only audience cannot bear the wait, you can start from Manga Chapter 73 (Official Compiled volume 18) , it is available already in English and other major languages. Wink

Well, even ANN didn't know it as they put it on the list of the daily streaming reviews.
I guess one spot is free now.

I was convinced it was going to be 2 continuous cours. But since I already know what is happening from the manga, this break is not a big deal for me.

So Yonkou was right about the split cour.

Was not expecting that April release date though. I was sure it'd come back in January. Oh well, I'm okay with this break either way. I hope the animators take a good rest and come back in full force for the next arc, which is full of action.
