The 3DS had a really good lifespan. It was rough at first, but it eventually became a great successor to the DS. EO Nexus is a good send off for the 3DS. There are a couple of notable games upcoming for the 3DS (Kirby Epic Yarn and Persona Q2 come to mind), but I wouldn't be surprised if there were no major 3DS games after 2019.

I've gotten about 3 hours in (an hour for character creation, then the first three of tutorial quests) and I have to say I'm very impressed by the quality of what could have easily been just a phoned in "greatest hits" rehash game. There's a lot of bang for your buck here.

Great to hear that Got my copy of the game today-- don't know when I'll get around to playing it (really busy with other things right now), but I tend to pick up mainline Etrian games at or around launch, and this time is no different.
Still annoyed that we never got an official English-language release for Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2, but happy that this one was brought over.
