Yet again Netflix goes with CG, but couldn't even go with one of the better CG studios? What a huge letdown

Never played the game, but have heard good things, so hopefully this is good like Castlevania was (though looking at those screen shots, at least visually that isn't going to be true...)

Judging by the screenshots, they already seem to be deviating from the game's plot somewhat. Not that it's in any way a bad thing given how poor the original plot was. Looks like they will either go with a half-baked revenge or damsel in distress narrative. The Arisen and Quina seem way too intimate in that screenshot to simply be childhood friends.

Welp, I'll still watch it as a fan of the game but my expectations are already in the gutter with those visuals.

On the plus side, Warren Ellis isn’t writing it.

I guess Netflix is looking hard for a Castlevania replacement.

What's wrong with Warren Ellis? I'll admit I haven't seen Castlevania season 3 yet, but I loved 1 and 2.

I mean it’s not like their gonna replace the show, it’s been very successful for them. They are just gonna remove the controversial element & replace him with someone else.

It’s not like you can’t have multiple successful shows.

Most Netflix shows only seem to last a couple of seasons regardless of popularity so I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends in another season or so anyway. But Netflix still hasn’t addressed the allegations against The Dragon Prince creator yet either.

The animation looks horrible but I'll probably check out the first episode when is released but beyond that can't say this looks to appealing from a animation standpoint.

Well, I really like the visuals (not the dragon but the characters look pretty good imo). Definitely some Castlevania vibes. I've reached a point where everything that isn't generic shonen fluff, idiotic teasing rom-coms and iseaki trash (basically 95% of anime these days) is good news to me so, yeah, pretty excited for this one, even if it is full CGI (which honestly doesn't look like, at least not the characters).

The game had a bad story, a generic fantasy world and the IP has been missing in action since 2013 at the latest (Dark Arisen). Let´s not count the Japan-only MMO that was shut down after 4 years. Why is this being adapted into anything?
I would play a sequel of course but that is due to the gameplay and nothing else.
