Of all the FFXIV characters to choose from I was not expecting Yoshi-P to get a MTG card.

The Wandering Minstrel getting a card over the likes of Vayne or the freaking Warrior of Light demonstrates a big problem with the set's series allotment and its obsession with 14 despite 14 also having a commander deck
The card selection in general feels poorly thought out. Quistis and Zell get cards, but not Irvine and Selphie. Quina (who I love, but is about as far from relevance as you can get) manages to get their own card, but not Eiko or Amarant. We get depictions of final bosses, but not for 4, 9, 12, or 13. The whole thing comes across as scattershot and bizarrely incomplete

It would be impossible for every character to be represented, but I imagine with how popular this set seems to be they could always do a second Final Fantasy collaberation
Focusing on 14 makes more sense if you think about it being a live-service game still in development so it probably has the most active fans that would be interested in purchasing these cards.

Not surprising; the Minstrel is a wondrous storyteller

It's impossible for every character to be represented, but it's ridiculous to not include every main character because they're too busy printing 5 Sephiroth cards or such important bits of FF14 as treasure maps. And there's no reason to assume a second FF collaboration - no more than you should hold out for a second Warhammer release
At the end of the day this is trying to be a celebration of FF as a whole and it fails, regardless of the cold business rationale behind certain chocies
