Great write-up. I have to say, Studio Orange are incredibly lucky having someone like Watanabe to so skillfully describe their process to western fans at all these conventions.

Their mention of doing the cg in Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is interesting, as I especially remember their work on Majestic Prince shortly after as an evolution on their process. I have no idea how much mechanical design will be in Leviathan, but based on those previous shows, Godzilla & Trigun, I'm honestly a little surprised that Orange haven't worked on a full-on cg mecha show yet. Elements keep appearing in many of their works, so it seems a natural fit.

Also, as an obsessive & annoying Land of the Lustrous fan who constantly yearns for S2, I feel bad for Watanabe having to constantly bat aside sequel questions online & at conventions. It's super cool that the interest is still there, but not only was he not even at the studio back then, but they've responded to the same question many a time over the years.

They know. They've heard, If people are really that bothered, maybe go bother TOHO or Kodansha instead? Then laugh when you don't get a response.

I managed to watch the panel on the youtube channel of Anime Expo but could not finish it because Anime Expo keeps deleting the streams right away after they end.
I wish Anime Expo did better job on that part and edit and upload the livestreams on youtube, archiving them forever. I think copyright issues is the reason they are not doing so which is a shame and a responsibility they should have taken already.

Please ANN, if you can upload details about the Gquuuuuux panel too as I didn't manage to watch it at all Sad
