It's quite good actually. I'd definetly reccomend watching it. I didn't know if I was going to enjoy it at first since I didn't really hear anything about it, but I once I got started, I didn't want to stop. I have a love/hate relationship with the types of series where as each episode occours, it leaves you with more questions than it answers.
It wrapped up in the end pretty nicely though. |

Two episodes in, loving it so far.
It's based on a game you say? That'd explain why I have an image on my computer that I found two years ago that looks freakishly like Arcueid. If you could provide any more information, it'd be most appreciated. |

Finally someone who agrees! Everyone I've talked to felt like the end was unsatisfying, but personally I think it's because spoiler[they were Arcueid fanboys who hated that she was killed in the end. Although admittedly I was confused as well, if she could heal from being sliced to pieces by Shiki why couldn't she come back.] |

Even if Arcuied spoiler[doesn't come back, it doesn't really matter. Although I really liked her character, ]the story was centered around Shiki and the events happing around him, not around her. It reminds me a lot of the complaints regarding Cowboy Bebop. |

Agreed... I really liked this series, but I also had to wonder at the inconsistency of Arcueid's death....
The art is pretty nice, and I really like the character designs in this one.... What are these games you speak of? I knew the show was based off the games, but no more... |

yeah, i've played two of them, though i don't how many were made. one is a text based game, and one is a fighting game. kinda interesting they'd make an anime considering in the games, you could choose from a whole bunch of different story paths.
so far i've only watched two episodes, and this the best video game anime to be made. |

Never played the game but watched all the eps of anime. Its very good , kinda twisted and dark anime. The pic and sound are great and music is damn good. Story keeps u want for more after each episode until the spoiler[heart breaking final ep]. Too bad its only 12 eps. I love the closing theme song

I said it when the first ep came out, and she'll say it again. Tsukihime is one of the best shows out of that season.

Its short enough that it wont take you forever to d/l all of it and I found the story very good. I highly recommend this. I am one of the Arcuied fanboys and I thought the ending was excellent. I would rank it as one of the best endings of the 2003 titles. |

I also wish it was longer but then I think about it and would rather have 12 quality epsiodes then 26 with a ton of BS filler.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime was originally a doujin (fan-made) game (a visual novel for Windows) made by the doujin group Type-Moon that became very popular - so popular, another doujin group, Watanabe Seishuro (who went pro and now use the name FURANSU PAN, or French Bread), created a 2-D fighting game for Windows called Melty Blood (an excellent one too). A newer version of Melty Blood called Melty Blood ReACT will be released this spring (a demo is available).
This is one of the few instances I can think of where a fan-made game spawned a fan-made fighting game, and then an anime by a top animation company (Geneon). Pretty cool stuff. |
