Fena Pirate Princess was a real stinker, but here's hoping Yoko Kamio can bring some stronger writing chops to match Kazuto Nakazawa's direction

Finally, someone who agrees that Fena's writing was its weakest link. But I have to wonder, would putting a veteran in the series composition seat have saved its quality?

I don't think it would have fully salvaged Fena (since ultimately it was very much Nakazawa's baby on most levels). But I do think having a series composer with more experience writing within the anime/manga sphere than none at all would have helped to structure his ideas to better suit a 12 episode run

It looks great, but I don't know why they would make a PV where you can sus out about 75% of the plot, especially since it's an anime original?

Famous Shojo Mangaka + All Star Cast + Studio WIT Period Piece Romance = I will totally watch it.

I love how you can even feel like it's a classic Shojo story.

Wait, now that you mentioned it, there's Jack the Ripper's past scene in Record of Ragnarok Season 2, where they speak British English. Is that also US VA doing british accent? Because I'm pretty sure they'd at least hire a british voice actor living in the US since they have the union contract.

Well this looks pretty neat. Glad to see the combo Netflix+ Wit Studio still going strong and making interesting and ambitious anime originals (Great Pretender, Vampire in the Garden, Moonrise...). Gonna binge-watch this baby for sure as soon as it's available...

Hopefully this is more Great Pretender than Moonrise.

Ugh.... Everything about this anime seems to be tailor-made for me. WDYM it's a historical fiction set at the beginning of the 20th century, with a rival-to-lovers romance plot and ART to boot? And it's WIT studio, too. Shocked

That would be nice if we could get some British/UK voice talent other then some video game for Nintendo, and other stuff. Man, some anime really needs an authentic British voices in there (well, for several anime that take place in UK or UK adjacent or just require British/UK accents). That would be a nice change.
