I think it looks serviceable more than good, personally. More like the Detective Conan anime where it’s doing just enough to make people “animate and making generous use of pans and such, but Liar Game was always more about its games than its people, so I’m okay with a more workmanlike approach

I'm not familiar with Saya Hitomi's work other than ther role as Jolenta in Orb, but Takeo Otsuka as Akiyama is excellent casting. I'm not hoping for some very fluid animation here, and I just want the show to nail the suspense and drama, which Yuzo Sato is more than capable of.
